Wreck Discoveries

The Troy  was just discovered in late 1999.   The remains are scattered but very interesting.  They include four anchors, a steel prop, engine, boiler and wooden timbers.

Dump Barge/Scow newly discovered wreck in the Thumb Preserve.  The wreck lies in about 75' of water.  This makes a good secondary dive after the newly discovered wreck of  The Troy. 

Anna Dobbins was a 93' Tug that sank after hitting a reef. The coordinates for the new barge and The Troy have been confirmed. Anna Dobbins coordinates have not been confirmed. We will let you know as soon as they are confirmed. If you dive this site please e-mail us to let us know what the wreck is like.

A clam bucket barge was just discovered in September, 2000 between St. Ignace and Mackinac Island.  This wreck lies in 115' of water. Go to the Straits Preserve page for coordinates. Reports back from divers say they cannot find this wreck at the coordinates. Has anyone been on this wreck? 

Non-Preserve Discoveries

Wexford - Newly discovered shipwreck off the coast of Grand Bend, Ontario.  This is the wreck of the S.S. Wexford which lies upright in 75' of water.  You can reach the decks at 54'.  The Wexford was built in 1883 in Sunderland, England.  It was 250' long, 40' wide and 17' deep.   The ship was lost in the great storm of 1913.                                                              Coordinates ***** N 43.24.080  W 81.53.322
